The 80W MOPA M7 is the lowest-power tier in our M7 line, built around the JPT Opto-Electronics YDFLP-80-M7-M-R source. The model code matters here: a listing that just says “80W MOPA” does not tell you which JPT variant is inside. Our 80W is the no-prefix M7 (YDFLP-80-M7-M-R) with the 48V architecture, 2 mJ peak pulse energy, and M² less than 1.4 beam quality, all spec-sheet identical to the 100W M7 except for nominal average power.

Software and upgrade options
This machine ships with the standard Sino-Galvo SG7110 galvo head and EZCad 2 software included on USB. Two optional factory upgrades extend what the machine can do; either can be configured at the time of order.
Base configuration: SG7110 head + EZCad 2 + LightBurn via adapter
The standard configuration covers all flat-surface 2D marking applications. EZCad 2 is the most widely used fiber laser control software in production environments, with full support for variable text, serialized marking, photo engraving, vector imports, and TCP/IP and I/O integration for production lines. LightBurn is supported via a USB adapter that ships with the machine for operators who prefer that workflow.
2.5D upgrade: BJJCZ G3 Pro head + EZCad 3 (USD 750)
This upgrade replaces the SG7110 with the BJJCZ G3 Pro head and adds EZCad 3 software (included). What you gain: stepped Z-axis control during a single design pass. The laser can mark at two or three different focal heights on the same workpiece without manually re-cranking the Z between layers. Right for stepped workpieces, terraced parts, deep-engraving multi-pass jobs, and any application where distinct height layers need to be marked in one sequence.
Full 3D upgrade: Feeltek FR10-F dynamic-focus head + LenMark (USD 5,500)
The FR10-F steers focus in software (LenMark) and uses no swappable field lens — it is offered in 100 × 100 mm and 200 × 200 mm field sizes.
This upgrade replaces the SG7110 with the Feeltek FR10-F 3D dynamic-focus head and adds LenMark software (Feeltek’s controller-side 3D mapping and design-wrap software). What you gain: continuous focal-length adjustment as the galvo mirrors point the beam across a curved or three-dimensional workpiece. The beam stays at true focus across the full surface in real time, not just one calibrated band.
When to choose the 3D upgrade: production volume on curved workpieces. If you are running dozens to thousands of curved parts per shift (rounded glass bottles, watch case-backs, ceramic vials, headphone shells, lampshades, contoured metal parts), the 3D head pays back through faster cycle time and consistent edge-to-edge focus quality. For one-off curved jobs the standard fixed-focus head with manual Z repositioning still works, but the cycle time per piece is significantly longer. The math typically points to the 3D upgrade once you commit to a recurring production run on curved parts.

Marking area by lens
The included lens choice determines the marking area on the workpiece. Every JPT machine ships with two lenses of your choice from the standard set; the 175 mm lens is included by default unless you specify otherwise at checkout.

Shorter focal lengths give finer beam spots and higher detail resolution at the cost of a smaller marking area. Longer focal lengths cover more area at the cost of slightly softer detail. Most production shops run two lenses (one shorter, one longer) to cover the working range without swapping mid-job.

Both upgrades are installed at the factory at the time of order. Adding either later requires shipping the machine back as a service exchange, which is doable but takes longer than ordering with the upgrade up front. If you know at purchase that you will be marking stepped or curved workpieces in volume, configure the upgrade at checkout.

Lead time: 2 to 3 weeks from order. The 80W source has stable JPT factory turnover.
Shipping: DDP to US, Canada, and the EU 27 with all customs and duties included in the listed price. Free shipping rest of world; buyer handles customs at destination. DDP transit is approximately 30 days by sea freight to US and Canada or 20 days by rail freight to EU 27, with customs and import duties included in the price. CIF air freight is available worldwide at 12 to 15 days transit if you prefer faster delivery and handle customs clearance yourself. The 80W crate is moderate weight (about 35 to 42 kg shipping weight including the machine and crate); curbside delivery is standard.

Warranty
The 80W MOPA M7 includes the 3-year warranty on both the JPT M7 source and the machine that applies to all no-prefix M7 and M8 fiber galvo tiers in our catalog. The warranty covers manufacturer defects, source failure not caused by misuse, and the machine’s control electronics. Software updates are free for the machine’s lifetime.

Is the 80W really worth the step up from the 60W E2?
Three concrete differences: 3-year warranty versus 2-year, tighter beam quality (M² less than 1.4 versus less than 1.5), and the M7 source brand-name. Performance-wise the 80W is 33% more power than 60W and uses the same MOPA architecture, so cycle times on color marking improve roughly 20-25%. If your business runs more than ~500 units per month, the warranty extension alone usually pays for the step up.
Why does the 80W have higher peak pulse energy than the 100W?
JPT specifies the YDFLP-80-M7-M-R at 2 mJ maximum pulse energy, while the 100W, 120W, 200W, and 350W M7 sources cap at 1.5 mJ. The 80W’s lower average power means each pulse can be longer in duration or higher in peak energy without exceeding the source’s thermal budget. For most applications this doesn’t matter, but for very-short-pulse work (sub-10 ns at low frequencies), the 80W is unusually capable.
How is this different from an “80W MOPA” from another seller?
Verify the JPT model code. No-prefix M7 80W is YDFLP-80-M7-M-R with no E prefix. Other sellers may offer the E-series variant (YDFLP-E-80- prefix), which has slightly relaxed beam quality and a 2-year warranty; we publish the exact code so you know which one you are getting. What software setup does the 80W need?
EZCad 2 and EZCad 3 are included on the USB key. No additional purchase. LightBurn is supported via the USB adapter we typically supply if your shop runs LightBurn on other lasers.
Can the 80W cut metal?
Yes for thin metal: stainless 0.3 to 0.8 mm, brass and copper up to 0.5 mm, aluminum up to 0.5 mm. The galvo geometry caps the realistic cutting envelope; for production sheet metal cutting above 1 mm you want a CNC fiber laser cutter.
How long does delivery take?
