What “authorized JPT distributor” means

JPT Opto-Electronics manufactures laser sources, the optical engine at the core of a laser marking, cleaning, welding, or cutting machine. JPT sources are used in industrial production lines worldwide, including marking lines we know personally at Tetra Pak, AVK, U-Boat Watches, and Green Group.

Being an authorized JPT distributor means we have a written agreement with JPT Opto-Electronics that allows us to source authentic JPT laser sources directly from the manufacturer, integrate them into complete production machines, and resell them as part of the machines we build. This is not a casual reseller arrangement; it requires JPT’s vetting of our engineering, after-sales support, and warranty processes.

Why this matters when you buy a fiber laser

JPT publishes several variants of the same source family (for the M7 line: the no-prefix M, the EM7, and the E2, which differ mainly in whether the internal seed source and pump diodes are imported or made in-house by JPT). They are all genuine rated JPT sources. The catch is that many sellers advertise only “JPT 100W” and never say which variant is inside, so the buyer cannot tell which one they are paying for. Buying from an authorized distributor that publishes the exact model code removes that ambiguity.

The variant is worth knowing. The no-prefix YDFLP-100-M7-M-R (our 100W M7 machine) has < 1.4 beam quality, 48 VDC operation, and a 3-year warranty; the E2 variant (YDFLP-E2-100-M7-M-R) uses JPT’s in-house seed source and pump diodes at 24 VDC. Both are genuine rated JPT M7 sources; the published model code tells you exactly which one is in the machine, which is the whole point of naming it.

When you buy from an authorized distributor:

  • The source model in the machine matches the model named on the product page
  • The source has a traceable serial number from JPT
  • The manufacturer warranty is recognized by JPT for support escalations
  • Replacement sources, if ever needed during warranty period, come from JPT directly
  • Software and firmware updates from JPT flow through to your machine

Scope of our JPT authorization

Our authorization covers JPT’s full pulsed and continuous-wave fiber laser source range, plus the UV nanosecond and pulse cleaning lines. Specifically:

  • M7 series MOPA pulsed fiber: 20W, 30W, 60W, 80W, 100W, 120W, 200W, 300W, 350W
  • M8 series MOPA pulsed fiber: 20W, 50W, 100W, 120W
  • LP series pulsed fiber: 20W, 30W, 50W
  • EM7 and E2M7 entry-tier MOPA: applicable power levels
  • CL series pulse cleaning fiber: 100W, 200W, 300W, 500W, 2000W
  • CW series continuous-wave fiber (for cutting and welding): 1500W, 2000W, 3000W, 6000W and above
  • UV nanosecond: 5W to 20W as applicable

What our authorization does NOT cover

JPT does not manufacture CO2 laser sources. Our CO2 machines (CO2 galvo for marking on wood, leather, acrylic; CO2 gantry for sheet-stock cutting) use the established CO2 source brands:

  • Davi for CO2 galvo machines (marking and engraving on non-metals)
  • RECI for CO2 gantry cutting machines (sheet-stock cutting)

These are the right CO2 source brands for these technologies, the same brands used in established CO2 marking and cutting equipment industry-wide. We name them openly on every CO2 product page; we do not market CO2 machines as “JPT sourced” because they are not.

Verifying the source in your machine

Every machine we ship includes documentation of the laser source it contains: the JPT model number (e.g. YDFLP-100-M7-M-R), the serial number, and the manufacturing date. For CO2 machines, the equivalent documentation for the Davi or RECI source is included. If you have any doubt about the source in a machine you bought from us, contact info@jpt-laser.com and we will provide the serial-number record and, where applicable, the JPT registration for that specific source unit.
