Does the engraving make the glass structurally weaker?

For deep engraving (more than 0.1 mm into the glass), structural integrity should be tested for your specific application; pharmaceutical vials, for example, have strict integrity requirements.
Can I mark inside a bottle, on the back side of the glass?
UV laser marks at the focal point. With a clear bottle and the focal point set on the interior surface, you can mark inside-the-bottle (sometimes called “inner engraving” or “depth engraving inside crystal”). This is a specialty technique that produces dramatic 3D effects in clear crystal awards.
Will the mark survive a dishwasher?
Yes. The mark is a physical micro-fracture in the glass surface, not a coating. Dishwasher cycles, hand washing, and even abrasive cleaning do not remove or fade the mark.
