Overview

The 10W UV Laser is the production-tier entry point in our UV catalog, built around the JPT Opto-Electronics Seal-355-10S source. This is a frequency-tripled Nd:YVO4 DPSS laser at 355 nm wavelength with Q-switched nanosecond pulses and TEM00 spatial mode. The 10W tier moves up from the air-cooled Lark-355-5A at 5W to a water-cooled architecture with integrated 500 W chiller, which is the practical inflection point where UV power production requires forced liquid cooling.

Buyers reach the 10W UV tier when small-batch capability from the 5W is no longer enough for production volume. The 10W doubles average power versus the 5W and shifts the pulse frequency range up to 40 to 300 kHz (versus 5W’s 20 to 200 kHz), which combined with the larger beam diameter (0.55 mm) means cycle times on production marking workloads improve roughly 80% to 100% over the 5W tier. Typical workloads: glass and crystal marking at production volumes, PCB and FR4 serialization at line speed, plastic component cold marking for medical device traceability, ceramic substrate marking for electronics, and polymer film processing.

What you get from JPT Laser Shop: a verified JPT Seal-355-10S source with traceable serial number, the integrated 500 W water chiller (sealed, no external plumbing required), the Sino-Galvo SG7110 scanning head, DDP shipping with customs and duties paid for US, Canada, and EU buyers, plus an 18-month warranty on both UV source and machine. We are an authorized JPT distributor; the Seal-355-10S in your machine is the genuine JPT source verified against JPT’s published datasheet on en.jptoe.com.

Practical guidance: choose 10W UV when production volume has outgrown the 5W tier. Step up to 15W or 20W for higher-volume work where the additional power justifies the larger chiller. Stay at 5W if production volumes are below 200 units per shift and you want to skip chiller maintenance. Full laser comparison →

Software and upgrade options

This UV machine ships with the standard Sino-Galvo SG7110 galvo head and EZCad 2 software included on USB. Unlike the fiber catalog, the UV catalog does not offer an intermediate 2.5D upgrade; UV applications either work on flat surfaces (the standard head is sufficient) or require full 3D dynamic focus (Feeltek upgrade below).

Base configuration: SG7110 head + EZCad 2 + LightBurn via adapter

The standard configuration handles all flat-surface UV marking. EZCad 2 is the UV control software and has dot-matrix raster and photo-engraving modes well suited to UV-sensitive materials. LightBurn is supported via a USB adapter for operators who prefer that workflow.

3D upgrade: Feeltek FR10-U dynamic-focus head + LenMark (USD 5,500)

The FR10-U steers focus in software (LenMark) and uses no swappable field lens — up to a 600 × 600 mm field.

This upgrade replaces the standard SG7110 with the Feeltek FR10-U 3D dynamic-focus head. This is the UV-specific Feeltek model with optical coatings and beam-path tuning for the 355 nm wavelength. The upgrade adds LenMark software (Feeltek’s controller-side 3D mapping software). What you gain: continuous focal-length adjustment as the galvo mirrors point the UV beam across a curved or three-dimensional workpiece. UV is the right wavelength for marking glass, ceramic, clear plastics, silicone, and coated metals; the 3D head extends that capability to round, domed, or contoured versions of those workpieces.

When to choose the 3D upgrade: production volume on curved workpieces in UV-suited materials. Perfume bottles, cosmetic packaging, wine bottle accents, watch case-backs in ceramic, pharmaceutical vials, glassware for hospitality and luxury brands. If you are running batches of dozens to thousands of curved UV-suitable parts per shift, the 3D head dramatically cuts cycle time versus repositioning the workpiece between focal heights. For one-off curved jobs the standard fixed-focus head still works but is much slower per piece.

Our 3D UV engraving guide walks through the complete workflow from CAD model to engraved curved part using the Feeltek and LenMark pipeline.

Marking area by lens

The included lens choice determines the marking area on the workpiece. Every JPT UV machine ships with two lenses of your choice from the standard set; the 175 mm lens is included by default unless you specify otherwise at checkout.

Warranty

18-month warranty on JPT UV source and machine, including the integrated chiller as part of the machine assembly. The 18-month term applies across our entire UV catalog and reflects UV diode service-life physics; UV diodes have shorter rated lives than fiber sources, and our warranty matches realistic expectations rather than overselling.

30-day defect return window. We cover return freight in the original crate. Full text on the returns and warranty page.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 10W UV really 2x faster than the 5W on production work?

Roughly 80% to 100% faster on typical glass and plastic marking workloads, depending on the material and mark depth. The 10W has double the average power and a wider frequency range (40-300 kHz versus 5W’s 20-200 kHz), which together compound for production cycle time improvements.

What chiller maintenance does the 10W UV need?

The 500W chiller is sealed and uses distilled water. Visual inspection every 6 to 12 months depending on duty cycle. The chiller filter and reservoir are documented in the quick-start guide. The chiller is included with the machine; no external water plumbing is required.

Can the 10W UV mark metal?

Yes but slowly. UV at 355 nm is not the right wavelength for metal marking; fiber laser at 1064 nm is far more efficient on metal. The 10W UV is the right choice for non-metal materials where fiber cannot work cleanly.

How does it handle high-volume PCB serialization?

Production-grade. The 10W UV with line-speed integration handles PCB serialization workloads at 200 to 600 boards per hour depending on mark size and complexity. UV is the standard wavelength for electronics marking because it does not damage thin conductor traces.

Delivery timeline and customs?

5 to 7 weeks total: factory build 3 to 4 weeks; DDP transit is approximately 30 days by sea freight to US and Canada or 20 days by rail freight to EU 27, with customs and import duties included in the price. CIF air freight is available worldwide at 12 to 15 days transit if you prefer faster delivery and handle customs clearance yourself. DDP includes customs duties for US, Canada, and EU 27.

  1. Jim M.

Customer service and support are unbeatable, period. I have a laser that I bought before I knew of your company. I had some questions regarding it and you took time to try to help me, and then reached out to someone else for their input to try to help me. I bought a JPT 10W UV laser less than a year ago. Great product and even better customer support.
