You do not direct any laser at liquid fuel, solvent, or a pressurized container. This is not a complexity specific to fiber lasers; it is the same common-sense rule that applies to any heat source near flammables. Fiber lasers do not engrave plastic disposable lighters, and there is no sensible reason to attempt it. The application described on this page is metal-case refillable lighters only.
