Operating workflow

Why does the 300W have higher pulse energy but narrower pulse width range?

JPT designed the CL-300-13-A specifically for heavy cleaning, where the high-energy long-pulse regime is optimal. Short pulses (sub-80 ns) are useful for fine-detail marking but not for industrial cleaning where you want to deliver maximum energy per shot to a wider area. The 200W tier keeps the 2 ns minimum pulse width because it serves lighter cleaning workloads where shorter pulses can be useful for delicate surfaces.

Why does the 300W use 24V DC versus 200W’s 48V DC?

JPT spec quirk; the CL-300-13-A internal architecture is optimized at 24 V DC for the higher pulse energy operation. This is a published JPT specification, not a machine-design choice on our end. The 300W consumes 1500 W average versus 200W’s 800 W (much higher), drawing more current at the lower voltage.

What’s the practical throughput on heavy rust?

Highly dependent on rust thickness, base material, and surface geometry. Rough rates for medium-heavy rust (200-400 micron oxide scale): 10-30 square centimeters per minute at production speeds. Is the 300W appropriate for automotive restoration?

For heavy restoration projects (old vehicles with thick rust and paint), yes. For typical automotive paint stripping or light rust, the 200W is more economical and provides the necessary capability without overkill. The 300W shines on heavy-duty restoration where 200W cycle times are too long.
