Overview
The 500W Pulse Laser Cleaning Machine is the flagship of our industrial cleaning catalog, built around the JPT YDFLP-CL-500-30-W source. This is a substantially different machine from the 200W and 300W cleaning tiers: water-cooled rather than air-cooled, QBH head delivery with 200 micron core diameter fiber, 220 V AC mains input, and 30 mJ maximum pulse energy (versus 300W’s 13 mJ, more than double). The 500W is purpose-built for the heaviest industrial cleaning workloads where lower-power machines simply cannot complete the work in a production-feasible cycle.
Production buyers reach the 500W tier for restoration of multi-millimeter thick coatings, heavy industrial scale removal, large-scale rust restoration on industrial equipment, ship hull cleaning, large-area paint stripping on heavy equipment, foundry-class oxide layer removal, and similar workloads where the 300W tier becomes the throughput bottleneck. The 500W is a serious capital investment and a serious production tool; not the right choice for light or medium cleaning where the 200W or 300W tiers serve at lower cost and lighter freight.
What you get from JPT Laser Shop: a verified JPT YDFLP-CL-500-30-W source with traceable serial, the QBH delivery head with 10 m fiber cable, integrated water cooling, control console, DDP shipping with customs and duties paid for US, Canada, and EU buyers. The QBH head is the industrial standard for high-power fiber delivery; it accepts the source’s 200 micron core fiber and delivers the beam to the cleaning gun. Warranty terms confirmed at order.

What this machine can do
Ship hull and marine restoration
Large-scale ship hull rust removal, dock infrastructure cleaning, port equipment restoration. The 30 mJ pulse energy and 10 m delivery cable make the 500W practical for large surface areas.
Heavy industrial scale removal
Foundry equipment scale, mill scale on heavy steel sections, industrial vessel oxide layers. Multi-millimeter scale thicknesses that lower-power machines cannot complete in production cycles.
Large-area paint stripping
Heavy equipment paint stripping, oil and gas industry pipeline preparation, agricultural and construction equipment restoration at production scale.
Historic and monument restoration
Stone monument cleaning, historic metalwork restoration where the surface must be preserved while cleaning aggressive contamination layers. The 500W’s pulse parameter control supports careful surface-preserving workloads.
Production line cleaning integration
Multi-shift production cleaning lines where 200W and 300W tiers become the throughput bottleneck. The 500W handles continuous-duty cleaning workloads with the water-cooled chassis margin.

Practical guidance: the 500W is the right choice when the workload involves heavy industrial restoration, large surface areas, multi-millimeter thick contamination, or continuous-duty production cleaning. For typical industrial cleaning the 200W or 300W tiers are more economical. The 500W is a capital investment that pays back through dramatically faster cycle times on the heaviest workloads. Operating workflow
Same handheld-gun workflow pattern as the 200W and 300W cleaning tiers, with two key differences. First, the longer 10 m delivery cable lets the operator reach further from the machine console, useful for large surface restoration where the source needs to stay stationary while the operator covers the workpiece. Second, the QBH head connector allows the cleaning gun head to be swapped for service or specialty heads (specialized optics for specific cleaning patterns).
Parameter tuning at 500W is more demanding than lower tiers because of the higher pulse energy. Plan 5 to 7 days of hands-on practice for parameter recipes; the 5-100% output power tuning (vs 0-100% on lower tiers) reflects JPT’s recommendation that the 500W not run below 5% output, where pulse stability becomes inconsistent.
Shipping and delivery
Lead time: 4 to 6 weeks factory build. The 500W cleaning source has the longest production cycle in our catalog due to the water-cooling system integration and QBH head assembly.
Shipping: Free DDP to USA, Canada, EU 27. Free shipping rest of world. The 500W cleaning machine is the heaviest item in our catalog (~150 to 180 kg shipping weight). DDP transit is approximately 30 days by sea freight to US and Canada or 20 days by rail freight to EU 27, with customs and import duties included in the price. CIF air freight is available worldwide at 12 to 15 days transit if you prefer faster delivery and handle customs clearance yourself.
Crate: lift-gate delivery required at this weight. We coordinate freight forwarder and lift-gate appointment as part of DDP service. Full terms on the shipping policy page.

Frequently asked questions
Is the 500W really worth the cost over the 300W?
For the heaviest industrial restoration workloads, yes. The 500W’s 30 mJ pulse energy versus 300W’s 13 mJ (2.3x higher) cuts cycle times roughly in half on heavy rust and multi-millimeter coatings. For light or medium cleaning the 300W is more economical. The 500W pays back on workloads where 300W cycle times are the bottleneck.
Why is the 500W water-cooled when 200W and 300W are air-cooled?
Power density. The 500W average power with 30 mJ pulse energy exceeds what air cooling can dissipate continuously. JPT engineered the CL-500-30-W with integrated water cooling because the source thermal budget requires forced liquid cooling for multi-shift duty cycles. The chiller is sealed (no external plumbing) so installation is similar in difficulty to the air-cooled tiers.
What does QBH head mean?
QBH (Quartz Block Holder) is the industrial-standard fiber connector for high-power fiber laser delivery. The QBH lets the cleaning gun head connect to the 200 micron core fiber from the source with low loss and high reliability. The QBH is the same connector standard used on industrial fiber laser cutters, so spare parts and service expertise are widely available.
Can the 500W run from standard 110-220 V household power?
220 V AC mains specifically. The 500W requires 220 V (or 230/240 V which is equivalent in EU). For US installations on 110 V residential service, you need a 220 V circuit installation (typical “dryer outlet” equivalent). Most industrial facilities already have 220 V available; this is not a residential machine.
What is the practical cleaning throughput on heavy rust?
For multi-millimeter thick rust scale: 50-100 square centimeters per minute at production speeds. The 500W finishes typical heavy restoration jobs roughly 2-3x faster than the 300W on the heaviest workloads.
How long until delivery?
8 to 11 weeks total. Factory build 4 to 6 weeks (longer than smaller tiers); DDP transit is approximately 30 days by sea freight to US and Canada or 20 days by rail freight to EU 27, with customs and import duties included in the price. CIF air freight is available worldwide at 12 to 15 days transit if you prefer faster delivery and handle customs clearance yourself.
Is fume extraction more important at 500W?
Yes. The higher power vaporizes more material per second, which means more fume per unit time. Industrial-grade fume extraction is essentially mandatory for indoor 500W cleaning operation. We can recommend appropriate fume extractors at order time.
Production deployment notes
500W cleaning machine buyers are heavy industrial restoration contractors, shipyards, oil and gas pipeline preparation contractors, foundries, large-equipment refurbishment shops, and historic restoration operations. The 500W is the heaviest production tool in our catalog and a serious capital decision. Email us for a workload sizing consultation, total-cost-of-ownership analysis, and service contract options before placing an order.
