The 30W LP Fiber Laser is the smallest LP-series machine in our catalog, built around the JPT YDFLP-E-30-LP-S source. The LP designation means MOPA architecture with a fixed 200 ns pulse width (not adjustable) and a narrower 1 to 600 kHz frequency range (versus M7’s 1 to 4000 kHz). The trade-off is simple: lower price than the 30W MOPA M7, at the cost of color marking capability and fine-pulse work.
This is the budget entry tier for monochrome industrial marking. Common workloads: ID plate marking on anodized aluminum, gun engraving (black marks on slides and frames), knife blade brand marks, small-batch production serialization on metal parts, equipment nameplates, and similar monochrome work where the fixed pulse is not a limitation. If your work involves color marking on stainless steel (anodized rainbow effects, brand colors), this machine cannot do it; choose 30W MOPA or 60W E2 instead.

Anodized aluminum data plates, machine nameplates, equipment labels. Monochrome black-on-aluminum is the LP’s bread and butter.
Firearm and knife engraving
Slide engraving, frame markings, knife blade brand marks. Black monochrome marks on hardened steel; no color requirement.
Small-batch metal serialization
Serial numbers and data matrix codes on metal parts at 30 to 200 units per shift. The 30W LP fits SMB serialization workloads.
Monochrome tumbler customization
Black marks on stainless tumblers and bottles. No color marking on this tier; the LP cannot produce the iridescent color marks that MOPA does.
Plastic and acrylic marking
Marks on darker plastics and acrylic. Lighter plastics may melt under the 200 ns fixed pulse; test before committing to a material.
What 30W LP cannot do: color marking on stainless or titanium (architectural limitation), short-pulse work (anything below 200 ns is off the table), fine plastic marking on heat-sensitive materials (fixed pulse may melt them), and ultra-fine detail below 0.4 mm text (M² less than 1.5 limits resolution).

Software and upgrade options
This machine ships with the standard Sino-Galvo SG7110 galvo head and EZCad 2 software included on USB. Two optional factory upgrades extend what the machine can do; either can be configured at the time of order.
Base configuration: SG7110 head + EZCad 2 + LightBurn via adapter
The standard configuration covers all flat-surface 2D marking applications. EZCad 2 is the most widely used fiber laser control software in production environments, with full support for variable text, serialized marking, photo engraving, vector imports, and TCP/IP and I/O integration for production lines. LightBurn is supported via a USB adapter that ships with the machine for operators who prefer that workflow.
2.5D upgrade: BJJCZ G3 Pro head + EZCad 3 (USD 750)
This upgrade replaces the SG7110 with the BJJCZ G3 Pro head and adds EZCad 3 software (included). What you gain: stepped Z-axis control during a single design pass. The laser can mark at two or three different focal heights on the same workpiece without manually re-cranking the Z between layers. Right for stepped workpieces, terraced parts, deep-engraving multi-pass jobs, and any application where distinct height layers need to be marked in one sequence.
Full 3D upgrade: Feeltek FR10-F dynamic-focus head + LenMark (USD 5,500)
The FR10-F steers focus in software (LenMark) and uses no swappable field lens — it is offered in 100 × 100 mm and 200 × 200 mm field sizes.
This upgrade replaces the SG7110 with the Feeltek FR10-F 3D dynamic-focus head and adds LenMark software (Feeltek’s controller-side 3D mapping and design-wrap software). What you gain: continuous focal-length adjustment as the galvo mirrors point the beam across a curved or three-dimensional workpiece. The beam stays at true focus across the full surface in real time, not just one calibrated band.
When to choose the 3D upgrade: production volume on curved workpieces. If you are running dozens to thousands of curved parts per shift (rounded glass bottles, watch case-backs, ceramic vials, headphone shells, lampshades, contoured metal parts), the 3D head pays back through faster cycle time and consistent edge-to-edge focus quality. For one-off curved jobs the standard fixed-focus head with manual Z repositioning still works, but the cycle time per piece is significantly longer. The math typically points to the 3D upgrade once you commit to a recurring production run on curved parts.

Marking area by lens
The included lens choice determines the marking area on the workpiece. Every JPT machine ships with two lenses of your choice from the standard set; the 175 mm lens is included by default unless you specify otherwise at checkout.

Shorter focal lengths give finer beam spots and higher detail resolution at the cost of a smaller marking area. Longer focal lengths cover more area at the cost of slightly softer detail. Most production shops run two lenses (one shorter, one longer) to cover the working range without swapping mid-job.

Both upgrades are installed at the factory at the time of order. Adding either later requires shipping the machine back as a service exchange, which is doable but takes longer than ordering with the upgrade up front. If you know at purchase that you will be marking stepped or curved workpieces in volume, configure the upgrade at checkout.

Frequently asked questions
Is the LP architecture inferior to MOPA?
For monochrome marking, no. The LP and MOPA produce identical-quality black marks on metal at the same power level. For color marking and short-pulse work, MOPA is required because the LP’s fixed 200 ns pulse cannot tune the heat-affected zone for color or sub-200 ns work. If your application doesn’t need color or short pulses, the LP is the right tool.
Why is the 30W LP cheaper than the 30W MOPA?
The LP source has simpler control electronics: fixed pulse width and narrower frequency range. JPT prices this tier lower because the electronics cost less to produce. The scanner, chassis, accessories, and warranty terms are identical between the two machines; you save specifically on source pulse control flexibility.
Can the 30W LP do basic black marks on stainless?
Yes, all day. Black monochrome marks on stainless, brass, aluminum, anodized aluminum, hardened steel, knife blade steel, all work fine at 30W LP. The LP-vs-MOPA distinction only matters for color marking and fine-pulse work.
Will the LP work with my existing LightBurn setup?
Yes via USB adapter. Most shops moving up from diode lasers prefer to keep LightBurn for the visual workflow; the LP works fine in LightBurn. EZCad is also included and is the more capable software for production marking workflows once you’re comfortable with fiber laser parameter tuning.

Why a 2-year warranty?
The LP source tier carries our 2-year warranty default. No-prefix M7 and M8 sources (80W M7 and up, 20W M8 and up) get the 3-year tier. The 2 years reflects the source cost grade, not the machine build quality.
How do I know this is a genuine JPT source?
Real JPT. Model YDFLP-E-30-LP-S is on the source ID plate. The LP suffix is JPT-specific; no other source manufacturer uses this designation.
