What is the difference between a fiber laser marking machine and a CO2 laser?

Wavelength and material interaction. Fiber lasers at 1064 nm are optimized for metal marking through thermal ablation. CO2 lasers at 10.6 microns work on organic materials (wood, leather, acrylic, paper) but cannot mark most metals cleanly. For metal production marking, fiber is the right choice.

What is the difference between MOPA and Q-switched fiber laser marking machines?

MOPA (Master Oscillator Power Amplifier) gives independent control of pulse frequency and pulse duration. Q-switched is a fixed-pulse design. MOPA opens up color marking on stainless steel, fine plastic marking, and gentler material interaction. Q-switched is faster for raw ablation but limited to monochrome marking.
